I’m getting a lot of things done this summer and another to check off my list is water tubing! Spent a beautiful, and when I say beautiful I mean New England picturesque beautiful, Sunday out on the waters with a few great friends, a fast boat and a water tube aptly named Rampage.
It was my first time on my friend’s boat and out water tubing as well. I didn’t know what to expect as a first timer but I knew I should hold on for dear life. We also did an impromptu BBQ at Wallum Lake in Douglas, MA where we honestly forgot or didn’t bring all the things one would need for a BBQ.
Alas with full stomachs we ventured off.
After we started her up we went towards the middle of the lake. Slowly we crept up to speed to where other boats were having the same idea we were about too. Great distance from shore we let her open and boy is she a quick gal!
As mentioned I didn’t know what to expect. It was smooth sailings until she opened up and the wakes left in her wake would bounce you around and around until you find yourself with two fingers left holding onto the ropw supports.
Lean left! As a wave came towards you. Now right! Right!!!! As she turned viciously in the opposite direction. All the while I swore up a storm and shouted as many obscenities as I could muster in my diction.
I honestly could say I never feared so much of letting go yet had so much fun hanging on the brink of falling off. My body is well done in the soreness category andnit was well worth it. Oh as was this sight.
We spent the rest of the afternoon just eating, talking about upcoming plans and cruosing in the boat like we owned the lake. It was great.
I won’t hesitate next time to come back out for another outing that’s for sure!
